Description of the Ecosystem where I'm from



DESCRIPTION OF ECOSYSTEM WHERE MY VILLAGE IS LOCATED

 The Sierra de Agalta National Park is located in the department of Olancho about 5 hours drive from the capital Tegucigalpa. Sierra Agalta lies within the municipalities of Dulce Nombre de Culmí, San Esteban, Gualaco, Santa María del Real and Catacamas.  The park has an area of ​​655.0 km2 is this handled by COHDEFOR. Inside the park, populated conifer forest and humid tropical forest, live many birds and wildlife is very common to find orioles , parrots , macaws , hummingbirds , thrushes , corchas , owls , roadrunners and other birds of singular beauty , as well as you can find howler monkeys , ocelots , agoutis, peccaries quequeos or forestry , deer , coyotes, agoutis , foxes , rabbits , armadillos and many more animals. The park has several special sites so that they can visit one of them Peak Of Picucha which is the highest peak in Olancho and the fourth highest of Honduras.This National Park can be visited and enjoyed at any time of year, on your next stay in Olancho, dare to live this experience, visit and meet the National Park Sierra De Agalta
 Near the park are caves (Cave Susmay ) , archaeological sites ( Cave Talgua ) , indigenous culture and spectacular waterfall in Coal
 The PN Sierra Agalta has many streams running down its slopes forming different waterfalls as Gualaco of Babylon, which can be seen from the road to Trujillo. 


 



We can say that the flora is very diverse including lianas, bromeliads, ferns, orchids, herbs, shrubs, trees and others. In addition, there are different communities or ecosystems that have very different floristic compositions related to the biophysical characteristics of the place. In the Sierra de Agalta National Park have been identified and confirmed the presence of 49 species of non-flying mammals, 14 of which are threatened by illegal hunting. Reportedly Agalta Sierra has a great diversity of terrestrial animals compared to other national parks in Honduras.
